APC Chairmen, Councillors Resume in 14 Osun LGAs

On Wednesday morning, chairmen and councillors elected in Osun State’s October 2022 local government election resumed duty in 14 local government secretariats.

They arrived at the secretariats in Ila, Ede South, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Boripe, Oriade, and Obokun. Others include Ejigbo, Iwo, Ayedire, and Boripe.

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) accompanied them to the offices. Security personnel, including police tactical teams, civil defense officers, and DSS operatives, were stationed at the locations.

A former adviser to the governor on education, Jamiu Olawumi, confirmed the resumption and said there were no reports of violence. He urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure a peaceful environment and remove any unwanted elements causing tension in the state.

Olawumi added that the elected officials are ready to work with the state government to support Osun’s development.
