Paul Chukwuma, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election, has denied accusations of laundering $378,000.
Reports alleged the Abuja Federal High Court ordered the forfeiture of the funds and a Mercedes Maybach linked to Chukwuma, purportedly proceeds of unlawful activities.
The court’s decision followed an ex-parte motion by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Chukwuma refuted the claims during a press briefing at his home in Umueri, Anambra East.
He attributed the allegations to political opponents aiming to damage his campaign.
He maintained that the funds were legitimately earned through a federal contract executed by his company, Fides Et Ratio Academy Limited, for a training project involving intellectual property rights.
Chukwuma insisted that all documents related to the contract are with the ICPC and asserted his readiness to contest the election, expressing confidence in winning both his party’s ticket and the governorship race.
He described the allegations as a distraction and reaffirmed his commitment to serve Anambra State.
