Aki Speaks on Childhood Struggles, Suicidal Thoughts

Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, widely known as Aki, has shared how his height challenges led him to consider suicide during his childhood.

In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Ikedieze recalled facing constant ridicule from his peers, which made his early years difficult.

He explained that growing up in the village, he often felt helpless as people made fun of his stature.

However, his mother played a key role in shaping his outlook on life.

According to him, a visit to the hospital at the age of nine changed his perspective.

A doctor reassured his mother that there was no medical issue with him beyond stunted growth.

The doctor advised her to focus on his education instead of worrying. That moment stayed with Ikedieze and pushed him to work harder in school.

Despite the hurtful words and name-calling he endured, he realized that education was his strongest tool.

The Nollywood star admitted that the pain sometimes became overwhelming, making him question whether life was worth living.

However, he eventually found strength through learning and self-belief, paving the way for his successful acting career.
