AAC Elects Woman to Challenge Soludo in Anambra Governorship Race

The African Action Congress (AAC) has officially nominated Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its candidate for the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.

Ifemeludike secured the nomination during the party’s primary election and is poised to contest against the incumbent Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as well as other candidates from different political parties.

The AAC’s National Chairman, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, was represented at the event by the party’s National Treasurer, Dr. Sam Ajeigbe.

Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, Chairman of the election committee, emphasized the party’s constitutional responsibility to present a candidate for the upcoming election, affirming that Ifemeludike met all the required qualifications to run for governor of Anambra State.

In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike expressed gratitude for the confidence shown in her by the party and promised to stay dedicated to the vision of the AAC supporters. She outlined her plans to empower the people of Anambra, focusing on women, children, and youths, and to contribute significantly to the state’s development.

Miss Ifemeludike, who hails from Eziowele in Idemili North Local Government Area, was elected as the AAC’s candidate through a unanimous affirmation vote during the congress.
