Human rights activist and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has called for an international probe into allegations of sexual abuse, statutory rape, and abuse of power against All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator, Prince Ned Nwoko.
In a statement posted on his official X handle (@YeleSowore), Sowore said the case had gone beyond politics and now pointed to “serious criminal conduct and gross abuse of power,” allegedly committed by the Delta North senator against his now-estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
According to Sowore, Regina Daniels revealed that Senator Nwoko “married” her when she was just 17 years old — a minor under United Kingdom law, where Nwoko remains a registered legal practitioner. Sowore stated that any sexual activity following such a marriage “would, under British law, amount to statutory rape.”
Sowore further alleged that Nwoko introduced Regina Daniels to hard drugs while she was still underage and “repeatedly forced himself upon her,” describing these acts as “serious criminal offences that demand investigation and prosecution.”
“It is unacceptable for Ned Nwoko to continue parading himself as a lawyer in the United Kingdom while facing these damning allegations. The Law Society of England and Wales must be alerted, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) must begin disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) to determine his fitness to practise law in the UK,” Sowore wrote.
He also accused the senator of using his political influence, wealth, and connections within the Nigeria Police Force to “suppress victims, pervert justice, and trample on human rights.”
“Impunity has an expiry date, and that date is now!” Sowore declared.
