A man’s work determines his worth, RCCG pastor Oluwaseun

– Says the absence of blessing is because most men refuse to work

At the last Sunday service in May 2024, the choir of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Strong Tower Parish, Etobicoke Area of Toronto in Canada, rendered a powerful ministration to usher the presence of God into the auditorium.

While urging the congregation to worship God in truth and holiness, Starnews NG reports that the parish Pastor, Oluwaseun Olatubosun, took the church to a higher realm and brought down the glory of God with a powerful worship song that praises God Almighty.

Pastor Oluwaseun, in his sermon, continued with his teaching, the series of ‘The 12 Pillars of Grace’, highlighting the last part of the series.

In his message, the pastor spoke on ‘Grace for labour’, saying labour is one of the words many people detest using.

He stressed that labour is not a curse, adding that it is God’s revelation for the release of his favour.

Quoting 1st Corinthians 15 vs 10, he made reference to Apostle Paul, being the most mentioned and recognized Apostle worldwide.

According to the Bible passage quoted, Apostle Paul emphasized that he could achieve all he achieved only by the grace of God, stating that he “laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

The pastor said, “grace could be in vain when it is not appropriate in the right way.”

Referencing the scripture, the pastor quoted Apostle Paul, saying the magnitude of the labour he enjoyed was made possible only by the grace of God.

He spoke further that many of the earliest Apostles were not much recognized because Grace was missing in their lives.

Using 2nd Corinthians 9 vs 8 to buttress his point, the preacher said the grace of God is available, nonetheless it does not cancel labour and enhances men’s work.

He added that it is “a man’s work that determines his worth”. He retreated that grace does not cancel labour, but enhances the work of men.

In his word, “we should not be a Christian that only confess the word but never practice the word.”
Many Christians confess the word, but they are confused whenever things don’t always work for them because they fail to work for it.

“God designed labour for man to have a life of fulfilment (Genesis 2 vs 5), many believers are put to shame because they fail to put in the work needed. The absence of blessing is because most men refuse to work”, he said.

He urged the congregation to work if they desire God’s blessing, citing the mandate given to men by God at the beginning of creation. Being a Christian does not exempt one from labour, stating that Christianity gives advantage and not an excuse.

He, however, implored the congregation to always work diligently, referencing Genesis 2:2 which explains how God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day, Starnews NG reports.
