—Party directs members to work for PDP, AA says, we will only work for president Muhammadu Buhari, the source hinted.

A high ranking member of the state working committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who pleaded anonymity has said that the Ondo State chapter of the APC has resolved not to work for Senators Yele Omogunwa, Ajayi Boroffice ahead of 2019 general election as a fallout of the crisis rocking the party following the controversial automatic tickets given to the affected Senators by the National Working Committee of the APC.

“The two senators are not loyal party members. As such, we will only work for president Muhammadu Buhari,” the source hinted.

Starnews gathered that the party has directed all its members to work for all his candidates who are presently in Action Alliance (AA) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as candidates.

Our members will not work for any APC candidates in the election, particularly Senators Ajayi Boroffice and Yele Omogunwa. We all know that the two senators are not loyal party members, so, let them go and work for themselves.

It was the injustice in the APC that pushed Abayomi and Fedar and some others out of the party. With that, how do you expect us to work for the APC candidates in the election? We will only work for President Buhari’s election and some of our loyal candidates. But our members who are now in AA, PDP and other parties will have our support.”

This might not be unconnected with the interest of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, who is sufficiently aggrieved for losing all its loyalists to the AA and PDP due to the decision of the APC NWC to give out automatic tickets and refuse to hold primary election in the state.

Recall that former senator in the state, Ayo Akinyelure, and senatorial aspirants of the APC, Dr. Tunji Abayomi and Dr. Olatunji Fedar, among other aspirants loyal to Governor Akeredolu recently left the APC to join the PDP and AA respectively in their various senatorial districts.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the APC in Ondo State, Mr Ade Adetimehin, has denied such move, saying that no party members or chieftains will be allowed to play anti party activities politics in the State.
