In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community commitment, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, has made significant strides to uplift the lives of residents across Ondo State this December.

On a day marked by hope and solidarity, Tunji-Ojo hosted two impactful events in Ondo State. In Okeagbe Akoko, he provided scholarships to orphans and empowered widows through various support initiatives. The event, held on Tuesday, was designed to bring relief to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Attendees expressed their gratitude as they received cash grants, industrial machines, and other business-support materials aimed at fostering self-reliance.
The minister’s commitment to community welfare was further echoed in the words of Hon. Fafunmilade Adetilewa, who represented Tunji-Ojo at the event.
He stated, “This programme is designed to bring relief to vulnerable members of society and reaffirm our government’s commitment to the welfare of the less privileged.”
The event was attended by local dignitaries, including traditional rulers and community leaders, who acknowledged the significance of Tunji-Ojo’s efforts.
In another gathering held in Ogbagi Akoko, APC chieftain Hon. Thalis Olonite Apalowo hosted party leaders and members to reinforce unity within the party. This event served as a tribute to Tunji-Ojo’s compassionate leadership, praising him for his unwavering support to the people.
Apalowo remarked, “I am hosting our party today in the name of my leader, Hon. (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who loves his people so much.”
Beyond these recent events, Tunji-Ojo has been actively engaged in a series of humanitarian efforts throughout December, including sponsoring medical outreach programmes across all 18 local government areas of Ondo State. These outreach initiatives provided free surgeries, covered medical bills, and distributed free medicines to those in need, ensuring that ailing individuals received essential healthcare services during the festive season.
Inspired by the spirit of giving, Tunji-Ojo further extended his support to all 203 wards in the state, distributing 20 bags of 50kg rice and ₦500,000 in cash to each ward. This initiative resulted in a total distribution of 5,000 bags of rice and ₦150 million cash disbursements, enabling families to celebrate the festive period with dignity and joy.
Additionally, Tunji-Ojo donated ₦20 million to empower ten selected individuals in Akoko North Local Government under the aegis of The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), one of the organisations championing the campaign for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
Ojo’s extensive philanthropic efforts also include various women’s empowerment programmes that have reached many in the community.
Despite the numerous acts of kindness that often go unreported, Tunji-Ojo has continued to assist residents who reach out to him for help with various challenges. His unwavering commitment to service suggests that only God knows his next plan of surprises as we journey into 2026.
Olubunmi Ojo, affectionately referred to as the STAR BOY of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, has not forgotten the youth of Ondo State. In a progressive move, he approved the creation of Technology Hubs and Research Centres across all local government areas recently.
The proposed centres, known as the BTO Industrial Hub and Research Centre, aim to expand digital opportunities and strengthen technology-driven empowerment for young people, providing them with modern digital learning spaces and advanced technology skills.
Furthermore, Tunji-Ojo has invested millions in sponsoring support groups for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, focusing on mobilising grassroots support for his potential re-election in 2027. These groups have organised various events, including gatherings and cash empowerment initiatives for underprivileged individuals, fostering a strong sense of community and appreciation among members.
