Veteran ghetto-dance star Daddy Showkey has revealed that Grammy-winning singer Wizkid introduced him to Instagram and helped him create his first account.
In a recent video call with music producer Maleek Berry, Daddy Showkey recounted how a few years ago he visited Wizkid’s home and discovered that he was trending online after the younger artist posted about him:
“When I went to Wizkid’s place, he said, ‘Baba, you don’t have Instagram?’ I said I didn’t know what Instagram was,” Showkey said during the chat .
Daddy Showkey said Wizkid not only explained the platform but also guided him through the process of signing up. Later on, singer Kcee assisted him with navigating the app and using hashtags effectively.
Recalling a recent Instagram post, Daddy Showkey thanked both artists:
“I had a special call today from @maleekberry and I shared a story of how @wizkidayo introduced me and also helped me open my Instagram account, and how @iam_kcee also shared knowledge on how to navigate the app … life is about learning, and applying the knowledge is key to the life we live now.”
The revelation underscores the camaraderie within the Nigerian music industry, with emerging stars supporting legends to stay visible and relevant in the digital age.
