One of Nigeria’s leading banks, Guaranty Trust Bank, popularly known as GTbank, has issued an important notice to all customers mandating them to link both their Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identity Number (NIN) to their GTBank Accounts.

The notice was obtained by Starnews NG on Thursday through an email sent by the bank to all their customers

The notice reads:

“Dear Valued Customer,

“We would like to bring to your attention the mandatory requirement to link both your Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identity Number (NIN) to your GTBank Account.

“This must be completed on or
before March 1, 2024. The process of linking your BVN and NIN to your Account is simple
and can be completed using any of these channels:

”1. Dial *737*20*BVN# from your registered mobile number
to link your BVN.

“2. Visit our website www.gtbank.com self service portal to
link your BVN and NIN.

“3. Visit the nearest GTBank branch and submit your BVN and NIN for linking to your account.

“Please be advised that if you do not link BVN and NIN to your account by March 1, 2024, your account will be restricted.

“This means you cannot withdraw or receive funds until the required update is completed.

“Thank you for choosing Guaranty Trust Bank Limited”, the statement said.
