Why We Support Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills – Afenifere

By Our Correspondent

The Afenifere group has shown its support for the recently proposed tax reform bills, which aim to enhance revenue systems in Nigeria.

The organization said it believes the reforms can transform how the country’s economy functions, benefiting all regions, including the North.

The reforms are seen as a means to increase revenue at federal and state levels, which could improve infrastructure and public services across the nation.

Afenifere also viewed the adjustments to VAT administration as a fairer approach to allocating funds, linking state earnings directly to economic activities rather than outdated allocation methods.

The group’s Organising Secretary, Abagun Omololu, said:

“Afenifere is in support of the tax reform for its promise of economic revival. We have noted that the bills are a crucial step towards stimulating the Nigerian economy, hence with the tax system reform, we hope for improvement of revenue generation at both federal and state levels. This is essential for funding critical infrastructure and social services that will benefit all Nigerians, including those in the North.”
