The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has explained why it arrested and arraigned Samuel Ojeogwu, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja.
In a statement released on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said Ojeogwu and three others were charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
According to Adeh, the arrest followed a petition filed on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and his associates.
She said, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying.”
The statement revealed that Ojeogwu allegedly ignored multiple police invitations before his eventual arrest in Lagos.
“Mr. Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh added.
Following investigations, the suspect was charged to court on November 6, 2025, for the listed offences.
Adeh confirmed that the accused has been remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions, reiterating the police command’s commitment to professionalism and due process.
“The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law,” she said.
The arrest comes amid rising tension in the family of actress Regina Daniels, who recently appeared in a viral video crying over her brother’s detention.
In the video, Daniels could be heard saying, “I will go back,” while lamenting her brother’s ordeal.
Her emotional reaction followed reports of marital strain with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she had earlier accused of abuse. Nwoko, however, denied the allegations, claiming Daniels needed rehabilitation due to alleged substance use.
