Why I Didn’t Attend Shiloh 2024 – Dino Melaye

By Our Correspondent

Former Kogi Senator Dino Melaye has explained his decision not to attend Shiloh 2024, an annual religious event organized by the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel).

In a social media post, Melaye expressed dissatisfaction with the recent retirement of Bishop David Abioye, a prominent leader in the church.

He questioned why Bishop Abioye, who is younger, was required to retire while Bishop David Oyedepo, the church’s founder, continues to serve.

He wrote:

“I did not attend Shiloh 2024. Because Shiloh without Bishop Abioye is somehow. I can’t understand why Bishop Oyedepo, who is older, is not retired, and it is Bishop Abioye who is younger that should be forcefully retired. God did not retire Abioye, only Oyedepo did. Let’s watch..”

The controversy follows Winners Chapel’s recent revisions to its retirement policies, which lowered the retirement age for senior officials to 55.

Bishop Abioye, along with Bishop Thomas Aremu, retired earlier this year in line with these guidelines.

Oyedepo retains the right to serve for life as stipulated by the church’s constitution, known as The Mandate.

It gave me serious unrest, who wrote the mandate? Vanity upon vanity all is vanity
