Vice President Kashim Shettima returned to Abuja on Friday after completing the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications in the Office of the Vice President.
Nkwocha noted that during his visit to the holy site, Vice President Shettima offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace and stability. His supplications also included prayers for the country’s leadership at all levels, from the federal government to the local authorities.
“May peace prevail in our land. We pray for Allah’s blessings to grant us peace and social harmony,” Vice President Shettima said during his prayers.
Before embarking on his spiritual journey, Shettima had represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
