Troops in collaboration with local security outfits have neutralized a suspected major logistics supplier to kidnappers in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The operation, which took place in Ofere Bunu, was announced in a statement by Nayo Jude Babatunde-Uyi, Senior Special Assistant on Information, Communications & Strategy to the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael.

According to the statement, the suspect was a key figure in providing food, arms, ammunition, communication gadgets, and other essential supplies to bandit groups operating in the area.

“This action is a clear signal to all those who aid and abet criminals within our communities,” the statement said.
The successful raid was carried out through joint efforts of the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community stakeholders.

Authorities described the development as a major step in dismantling the logistical networks that sustain criminal operations in the Kabba/Bunu axis.

The council chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining coordinated security operations, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with relevant agencies to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
