UNIMEDTH Congratulates Aiyedatiwa on Handover of Akure Complex to FUTA as Teaching Hospital

The management and staff of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) have congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on the official handover of the Akure Complex of the Teaching Hospital to the Federal Government, which will now serve as the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital.

In a statement signed by the Chief Medical Director of UNIMEDTH, Dr. Michael Olumide Gbala, the institution described the development as a milestone that aligns with the delivery of efficient healthcare and socio-economic welfare under the OUR EASE Agenda of the state government.

According to the statement, the agenda seeks, among other objectives, to prioritise improved healthcare services and the implementation of social welfare programmes to ensure the well-being of all residents across Ondo State.

Dr. Gbala commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support to UNIMEDTH, noting that the handover reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in the state.

The statement also extended congratulations to the management of the newly established FUTA Teaching Hospital, led by Professor Olusegun Ojo, wishing them great success in their operations.

UNIMEDTH further assured that both institutions would continue to collaborate to promote shared values and enhance the capacity of healthcare delivery, training, and research in Ondo State.
