Trump Promises Mass Deportation in Inaugural Speech

By Miracle Ogunde

In his inaugural speech on Monday as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump vowed to halt all illegal entries with immediate effect and commence mass deportation.

“All illegal entries will be immediately halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions upon millions of criminal aliens to the places from which they came,” Trump declared in the presence of four former presidents, including Joe Biden.

“We will reinstate my ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy,” he said, adding that he would “rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.”

Trump, who was sworn in alongside his deputy, 40-year-old JD Vance, pledged that America “will not forget our God” during his administration.

He also promised to “restore free speech in America.”

Trump, 78, was a political outsider during his first inauguration in 2017 as the 45th president. However, this time he is surrounded by America’s wealthy and powerful.
