Tinubu Mourns Ibadan Funfair Victims

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of 35 lives at a Children’s FunFair in Ibadan, with six others critically injured.

The event, held at Islamic High School, Basorun, attracted over 7,500 children, far exceeding the anticipated 5,000 attendees.

The funfair was organized by Wings Foundation in collaboration with Agidigbo FM.

In his response, the President extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and the people of Oyo State.

He directed authorities to conduct a full investigation to uncover the causes of the disaster and ensure accountability.

Tinubu urged the Oyo State Government to implement measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents, recommending regular safety audits, strict enforcement of regulations, and a thorough review of event management practices.

He also called on event organizers to prioritize safety measures to protect attendees, especially children.
