Tinubu Mourns As Onanuga Dies In Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sorrow over the death of Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and representative of Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.

Hon. Onanuga passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, after a short illness. She previously served as Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development in the 9th Assembly and was the Deputy Chief Whip in the current 10th Assembly.

In a statement, President Tinubu recognized her dedication to her constituency and her efforts to improve Nigeria.

He described her as a leader who inspired women to pursue political leadership through hard work and integrity.

The President extended condolences on behalf of the Federal Government to her family, her constituents, and the people of Ogun State.

He prayed for her soul’s eternal rest and comfort for those mourning her loss.

The announcement was signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
