President Bola Tinubu has landed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 38th African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government meeting.
The summit, scheduled from February 14 to 18, will focus on reparatory justice and racial healing under the theme Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.
On arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by Ethiopian officials, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other representatives from the Nigerian embassy.
Tuggar briefed the President on key developments, including Nigeria’s re-election to the AU Peace and Security Council and Bankole Adeoye’s continued role as AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security.
Top Nigerian government officials, including ministers and security chiefs, joined Tinubu at the event.
The President will participate in discussions on security challenges, health financing, climate change, and the establishment of an Africa Credit Rating Agency.
He is expected to return to Abuja on February 17.
