Bunmi Tunji Ojo, popularly known as BTO needs to be very careful in his political calculations and should not sacrifice his glorious political future for nothing. The Ondo star boy, BTO, has been implicated of a meeting with the six Ondo House of Representatives members at Dream Land Hotel, Jabi, recently, where their evil agenda against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was planned.

The unending political drama in Ondo state took a new turn yesterday when some members of the House of Representatives, six out of the nine federal parliamentarians in the green chamber, came up with a communique, reporting the incumbent governor to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

The precarious political serenity being enjoyed by the good people of the Sunshine State after unnecessary power struggles that characterized the end of the Aketi administration is being threatened by the outburst of these six members of the House of Representatives.

They are currently serving themselves against the people who elected them from their constituencies. Honestly, it’s not surprising that our supposed honourable could degenerate to this level of using the deceased former governor, Aketi, whose privilege they used to achieve their present luxurious lives, to gain political relevance.

These ignoble six federal lawmakers are Omoba Jimi Odimayo, representing Irele/Okitipupa federal constituency, Prince Derin Adesida of Akure North and South, Dr. Timehin Adelegbe of Owo/Ose federal constituency, Hon. Donald Ojogo of Ilaje-Ese Odo federal constituency, Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiraye of Odigbo/Ile-Oluji, Okeigbo federal constituency, and the son of the former governor, Chief Gboyega Adefarati of Akoko SouthEast and SouthWest, who came together in an attempt to disrupt the fragile peace of the post-Aketi era.

Although it was learnt that Donald Ojo later made a U-turn, absolving himself of any complicity.

But in an unprecedented manner, these Lawmakers concluded that H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa had been appointing Akeredolu’s enemies into his cabinet. The problem with these strange fellows who came together by evil is not about the appointments, which the current governor hasn’t handled badly so far, but he ensured that other disgruttled factions of the backanized APC in Ondo state are carried along to have a robust and united party ahead of the 2024 governorship election.

The entire scenario is laughable, for the honourable who literally abandoned their constituents like Hon. Derin Adesida, who became invisible in person or by impact after his inauguration last year in June, eight months ago.

Even with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s palliatives through the federal parliamentarians, the good people of Akure, Hon. Derin’s constituents, haven’t received anything through their vagabond representative. He suddenly found his voice against the current performing governor of Ondo state, just to create another political upheaval for our people.

Also, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, who literally abandoned Akeredolu when he was sick and rejected the biddings of his loyalists then, which led to an open confrontation with the former first lady, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, Dr Adelegbe has suddenly become a detector of sworn enemies for the departed soul of Akeredolu, accusing the current deputy, Dr Olumide Adelami, of being an arch-enemy of Arakunrin.

In the same vein, the over-ambitious Hon. Jimi Odimayo, who has been chasing shadows across Ondo state in his larger-than-life dream of becoming the number one citizen, was recently condemned by his constituents for distributing expired rice as palliatives.

This Irele-born federal representative is featured in this shameful dramatic episode. Having an interest in the same position of leading the state which H.E. Aiyedatiwa is occupying shouldn’t make him behave this badly without an iota of decorum.

I may not blame Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiraye, who was serving the interests of Mr Wale Akinterinwa, the erstwhile commissioner for finance cum a member of the dreaded cabals who took over governance towards the terminal end of the immediate previous administration led by Aketi.

To be sincere, what Hon. Donald Ojogo is looking for now may still be unknown; however, he was interested in deputy governor, having betrayed his erstwhile leader H.E. Agboola Ajayi to gain favour with late Akeredolu.

He probably saw it as an opportunity to get at the current governor who was considered ahead of Hon. Ojogo when Aketi was searching for a running mate for his second-term bid in 2020.

Chief Gboyega Adefarati, who had his latest breakthrough in the green chamber by the worst party primary, traceable to the shenanigans from the former aide of his father, now in charge of the Ondo APC in the last seven years of Akeredolu, Mr. Ade Adetimehin. This scion of Adefarati’s dynasty is dancing to the music of his benefactor i.e Ade Adetimehin.

This shameful outing has been linked to the current state chairman of APC of Ondo state, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, and the current minister of interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji Ojo, who were said to have met with the six representative members at the Dream Land Hotel, Jabi, Abuja, recently and perfected this shameful event.

As one of the fans of this youthful performing Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji Ojo, I want to beg him for record purposes to tread softly because the political landscape ahead of him is very slippery.

No doubt, he has a promising political future either with the state or Nigeria at large; he miraculously escaped both NYSC and Edu-gate sagas. I think this young man, BTO, is overstretching his luck, which may have a catastrophic end.

It’s obvious that his aspirant for Ondo 2024, Rt. Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin, can’t fly. Hon. Bunmi Tunji Ojo needs to be careful; the same mouths that people use to shout ‘Adegun’ are being used to say ‘Adeogun’. Apologies to non-Yoruba; a word is enough for the wise.
