A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged a policeman, Drambi Vandi, with murder, for allegedly shooting and killing a Lagos-based female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, on Christmas Day, The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. C.A. Adedayo, ordered that the suspect should be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the advice of the state Director of Public Prosecution. Attached to the remand application was a count of murder. Adedayo held that the remand order was for the first 30 days pending police investigation into the case.
