Katsina suspends kankara district head for ‘working with bandits’

The Katsina emirate council has suspended Yusuf Lawal, district head of Kankara, for allegedly working with bandits in the state. Iro Bindawa, secretary of the council, said in a statement that Lawal’s suspension was with immediate effect. While he did not disclose the reason for his suspension, Mamman Ifo, secretary to the Katsina emirate, told BBC the measure was taken because of his alleged links with bandits.
