You can’t escape death too, Nigerians attack Obasanjo over comments on Kashamu

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has come under fire over the condolence letter he wrote to mourn the late Ogun East former Senator, Buruji Kashamu. In the letter which went viral, Obasanjo claimed that Kashamu used the maneuver of law and politics to escape justice from alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside. According to Obasanjo, Kashamu could not escape death as no legal or political maneuver could stop the cold hand of death. Buruji Kashamu is dead

A former lawmaker, Senator Buruji Kashamu, is dead, The PUNCH has learnt. Kashamu, who represented Ogun-East senatorial district between 2015 and 2019, died at First Cardiology Consultants, Lagos. The hospital is the same facility where a former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi; and the President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, died. It was learnt that Kashamu, who had diabetes and high blood pressure, was admitted at the hospital for over a week before giving up the ghost.
