Suicide Bombers Attack Pakistan Paramilitary Headquarters, Kill Three, Injure Several

At least three paramilitary personnel were killed on Monday after suicide bombers stormed the headquarters of Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary in Peshawar, authorities have confirmed.

According to officials, three attackers forced their way into the compound, opening fire before detonating explosive devices inside the premises. The assault also left at least five others injured, including two members of the paramilitary force.

Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed the deaths to Reuters, while another senior security official, who requested anonymity, said the first bomber detonated explosives at the main entrance, allowing the remaining attackers to enter the compound.

“Law enforcement personnel, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area and are carefully handling the situation as we suspect there are still some terrorists inside the headquarters,” the official said.

Residents reported a swift security response.
“The road has been closed for traffic and cordoned off by the army, police, and security personnel,” a local resident, Safdar Khan, told Reuters.
The injured victims were taken to Lady Reading Hospital, where spokesperson Mohammad Asim confirmed the number of casualties receiving treatment.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but authorities say Islamist militants have intensified operations in the region following deadly border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan last month.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Afghan Taliban of providing safe haven to militants responsible for cross-border attacks—an allegation Kabul denies.
