Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has said that the results of the 2027 general elections have already been decided, even before voters head to the polls.
He made this statement during an interview, where he strongly criticised Nigeria’s current political system and electoral process.
Sowore said that no real change can happen under the current structure.
He described the system as one that cannot deliver true democracy or fair outcomes.
According to him, what the country needs is not another election cycle run by the same political forces, but a complete break away from how things are currently done.
He expressed doubt about the credibility of upcoming elections, claiming that those in control have already prepared the outcome.
He said that unless people rise and demand change in a bold way, Nigeria will continue to face the same challenges.
Sowore also said he does not place his hope in alliances formed by political elites.
Instead, he aligns himself with everyday Nigerians who face hardship and feel left out of the process.
He mentioned that the millions of Nigerians who are registered but don’t vote are the ones he truly represents.
When asked if he plans to contest in the 2027 presidential election, Sowore said that his efforts to bring change have never stopped.
Whether through campaigning, protesting, or taking legal actions, he said he remains active in the fight for a better Nigeria.
