Show Example By Driving Made-in-Nigeria Cars, Atiku Tells Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked President Bola Tinubu to take the lead in supporting local products by using a made-in-Nigeria vehicle like Innoson if he truly wants Nigerians to believe in the new “Nigeria First Policy” announced during the recent Federal Executive Council meeting.

Atiku, who ran for president under the Peoples Democratic Party, reacted to Tinubu’s message on promoting local content.

He said the President must show Nigerians that he truly supports the policy by starting with personal actions, such as driving a locally assembled vehicle instead of imported luxury cars.

He also urged Tinubu to avoid foreign trips for medical care and instead use Nigerian hospitals for his health needs.

According to Atiku, government officials asking Nigerians to support local services should do the same, beginning with the President himself.

He said that abandoning expensive trips abroad for check-ups and trusting teaching hospitals like LUTH, UCH, or the National Hospital in Abuja would show true commitment.

Atiku noted that Nigerians are already tired of speeches that don’t lead to action.

He pointed out that the President’s luxury lifestyle and foreign travels do not match the idea of putting Nigeria first.

He added that using local vehicles and healthcare services would be a better way to show seriousness than just talking about patriotism.

He argued that leaders who enjoy foreign luxury while asking citizens to make sacrifices are not being fair. In his view, real leadership means leading by example, not just making announcements.
