BREAKING: Adeleke defects to Accord Party ahead of Osun 2026 guber primary

Barely 24 hours to the Accord Party’s Osun State 2026 governorship primary scheduled for Wednesday, Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Accord Party.

On Tuesday evening, The Nation observed Accord Party flags hoisted at the entrance of the Osun State Government House, where Adeleke was holding a meeting with leaders of his former party.

Adeleke’s exit from the PDP followed a leadership crisis that had engulfed the party in recent weeks.

A senior official in his administration confirmed the development, stating that “Adeleke is picking his re-election ticket in Accord.”

The Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, also confirmed Adeleke’s defection.

Details shortly…
