Senator Tackles Wike Over Abuja Bus Project

The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, has tackled the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over his projects in the city, saying they are not people-friendly.

Kingibe, while speaking in a viral video on Wednesday, said the minister’s plan to roll out public buses would not work, as not only did previous leaders embark on such projects, but these projects also failed.

She said, “Within a few years, all those buses will be dead by the time your tenure finishes.

“We assessed those buses, and we were told just a fraction of them could be repaired. So, you would need to buy fresh buses, which doesn’t make sense to buy petrol buses or diesel buses at this time.”

Responding to Kingibe’s views, Wike stated that the previous administration before President Bola Tinubu awarded those projects, adding that it is important that the present administration embarks on the projects to help the people.
