The Nigerian Senate has revised its resumption date, moving it from April 29 to May 6, 2025.
This was made known in a memo dated April 20, 2025, signed by the Clerk of the Senate, Andrew Ogbonna Nwoba, and circulated to all senators.
According to the notice, the shift is to allow lawmakers to mark the International Workers’ Day on May 1 and to enable them to focus on important constituency responsibilities.
The memo read: “I am directed to inform you that the Senate will now resume plenary on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Monday, April 29.”
It further noted that the adjustment was aimed at giving senators ample time to connect with their constituents during the May Day celebration and attend to constituency matters.
The Clerk expressed regrets over any inconvenience the change might cause and encouraged lawmakers to take note of the new date.
