Ondo State University Students have taken to major streets in Akure, the state capital to protest hike in their school fees.

Starnews reports that the protest has brought socio-economic activities in the state capital to a halt at the popular Market called “Oja Oba” in Akure, following a decision by the state government and the institution’s governing council to approve an increase in the students’ tuition fees from about thirty thousand to one hundred and eighty thousand naira.

Starnews Correspondent at the scene of the protests said the students were chanting solidarity songs & waving placards with different inscriptions against Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu tagged: ‘Reduce Tuition Fee Or Resign’.

The protesting students demanded immediate reversal of the increase in their tuition fees by Governor Akeredolu.
