Prince Abimbola Owoade: From Canadian Project Coordinator To Alaafin of Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Prince Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo, marking a significant milestone in the state’s history.

Prince Owoade’s ascension to the throne is the culmination of his illustrious career, philanthropic contributions, and steadfast commitment to preserving Yoruba culture.

A distinguished Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur and project management expert, Prince Owoade hails from the esteemed Owoade-Agunloye royal family in Oyo town. He is a direct descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade of Agure Compound, Oyo State.

According to. Vanguard, Prince Owoade’s academic journey underscores his commitment to excellence. He completed his secondary education at Baptist High School, Saki, Oyo State, in 1992. His passion for engineering led him to pursue a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, respectively.

Furthering his education abroad, Prince Owoade earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University in the United Kingdom. In 2015, he also acquired certification in Project Management (PMP).

Prince Owoade’s professional journey reflects his remarkable leadership skills and unwavering dedication. He has held key roles, including serving as a Planning Engineer at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow, United Kingdom. He currently works as a Project Coordinator at Manitoba Hydro, Canada.
