The presidency has recognized mistakes in a list it shared earlier, which outlined the appointments made by President Bola Tinubu since he took office in 2023.
The list was initially published on Wednesday evening by Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication.
The release followed comments from Senator Ali Ndume, who criticized the president for not following the federal character principle in his appointments.
In response, Dare took to social media, defending the president and describing him as a leader who does not favor any particular region.
Dare explained that when looking at the broader range of federal appointments across various government bodies, it’s clear that President Tinubu is making efforts to meet the federal character requirements.
The list, which claimed to show 134 appointments, indicated that the northern region of Nigeria had 71 positions, while the south had 63.
However, on Thursday, Dare admitted that the list had errors and apologized for the inaccuracies. He assured the public that a corrected version of the list would be provided soon.
