Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has been released after Fuji singer Saheed Osupa decided to drop a court case filed against him.
The issue began when Osupa accused Portable of making damaging statements during a live broadcast on Instagram.
These comments were said to have harmed Osupa’s name and affected his business, with claims that Portable removed Osupa’s songs from music platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
Following the complaint, the police in Kwara State took the matter to the Upper Area Court 1 in Ilorin.
Portable was charged with cyberstalking, defamation, and making threats, among other offences.
The charges were based on laws from both the Penal Code and the Cybercrimes Act, as well as a law meant to protect people from violence.
Portable was granted bail by the court, set at N1 million with two sureties.
One of the sureties had to be a leader from the music industry, and the other was required to own land in Ilorin’s Government Reserve Area.
However, on Tuesday, Osupa’s lawyer informed the court that his client no longer wanted to pursue the case.
He said people from the music industry and other important figures had stepped in, urging both parties to settle the issue peacefully.
Osupa agreed and instructed his lawyer to withdraw the matter from court.
Although the case has been dropped, Osupa’s team made it clear that he expects Portable to avoid making further damaging statements.
The singer warned that any future attempts to insult or spread false stories about him would not be tolerated.
The dispute, which gained public attention, now seems to be resolved, at least for the time being.
