Portable Loses Over 100,000 Instagram Followers After Controversial Remarks on Protests

Habeeb Olalomi, the controversial street pop singer better known as Portable, is facing significant backlash after making contentious remarks about the ongoing protests in Nigeria, leading to a sharp decline in his Instagram following.

In a viral video, Portable asserted that there were no protests in his hometown of Sango, Ogun State, and criticized the protests, labeling participants as “bad people” who deserved the same fate they were protesting against. He argued that previous protests had been ignored by the government, prompting him and others in his area to focus on their daily lives instead.

The singer’s comments sparked widespread outrage, resulting in a substantial drop in his social media following. Within 12 hours of posting the video, Portable lost 100,000 Instagram followers, reducing his count from 2.9 million to 2.8 million.

Fans warned that they would unfollow him if he continued making such statements, and many followed through on their threats.
