The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 105 suspects and seized over 5,000 illicit drugs in a statewide operation targeting drug traffickers and criminal hideouts.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the arrests during a press briefing on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

According to him, the raids were conducted simultaneously across several local government areas as part of intensified efforts to combat the growing menace of substance abuse in the state.

“Our officers searched every nook and cranny of Jigawa to root out illegal drug activities. Our men left no stone unturned,” Adam stated.

The operation led to the recovery of 2,541 units of Exol, 1,146 units of D5, 270 packets of Tramadol, over 1,000 wraps of cannabis, and one block of the same substance. Other items confiscated include 269 units of Diaxer, 153 Pregabalin capsules, and 82 units of Farin Malam.

The police also recovered ₦92,460 cash, along with rubber solution, suck and die, and dry gin, often used in illicit drug mixtures.

SP Adam noted that the successful operation sends a strong message to drug dealers, stressing that the Command will continue its crackdown until the state is free of drug-related crimes.

He urged residents to collaborate with the police by providing timely information on suspicious activities.
“Our fight against narcotics is ongoing, and we need everyone on board,” he added.

The Jigawa Command has since intensified surveillance and intelligence-led patrols to sustain the momentum against illicit drug operations across the state.
