Police Arrest Suspected Car Thieves, Ban Tinted Glass in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of three suspects involved in a car theft syndicate.

The suspects, identified as Temidayo Folajimi (43), Rotimi Akinsanoye (38), and Waheed Adekanmbi (51), were allegedly involved in stealing, selling, and dismantling vehicles for spare parts.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, the suspects targeted parked vehicles and resold them.

One stolen vehicle was intercepted at a licensing office after an alert during registration, Punch reports.

Further investigation revealed the suspects’ operations, with seven stolen vehicles reportedly moved out of the state.

In response to the crime, the police have banned the use of tinted glass and covered plate numbers in Ondo State, stating that such features provide cover for illegal activities.

Offenders will face arrest, and their vehicles will be impounded.

The police have urged residents to comply with the ban and report suspicious activities to ensure a safer community.
