Authorities in Ondo State have revealed that a landlord, identified as Oladele Femi, is the prime suspect in the alleged abduction, rape, and murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
The students — 25-year-old Abah John Friday and 19-year-old Okah Andrel Eloho — were declared missing on June 20, 2025. Their disappearance was officially reported four days later by legal representatives acting on behalf of one of the affected families.
Investigators made progress in the case after tracking an iPhone 14 Pro Max that belonged to one of the students to a suspect, Abdul Mohammed Mubarak, in Lagos. Mubarak told police he had purchased the phone from another individual, Ojo Michael.
Michael was later apprehended in Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti State. During his arrest, officers also recovered a Lexus RX 350 believed to have been owned by the missing students.
Under questioning, Michael allegedly confessed to participating in the abduction and murder of the students. He further claimed the attack was carried out on the orders of one of the victims’ landlords. Michael also admitted to raping the female victim before both students were killed, adding that the decision to murder them was made after she recognized one of the attackers.
The police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate the final suspect and recover the remains of Abah John Friday, who is still unaccounted for.
The Ondo State Police Command says it remains committed to pursuing justice and ensuring that all those responsible are brought to book.
