Peter Obi Praises Dele Farotimi’s Resilience

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has commended lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi for his unwavering courage in the face of challenges.

According to Politics Nigeria, Farotimi had recently been remanded in custody over a defamation allegation filed by senior lawyer Afe Babalola.

In a post shared on his X account, Obi disclosed that he visited Farotimi on January 2, shortly after a meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“After my meeting with President Obasanjo, I took the opportunity to visit my brother, Dele Farotimi. This was my first chance to see him since his return from the correctional facility in Ekiti,” Obi wrote.

He expressed delight at Farotimi’s positive disposition and reaffirmed his respect for the activist’s commitment to the fight for a better Nigeria.

“Dele Farotimi is a symbol of courage in adversity, consistently taking bold and principled stands for good governance in our nation,” Obi said. “I wish him a productive and successful year as we continue to work together for Nigeria’s progress.”

The visit highlights Obi’s support for those championing the cause of justice and national development.
