— Party directed State secretary to issue immediate suspension letters to the batterers.

By Odunwo Fadekemi (Akure)

A mild drama ensued at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State secretariat today in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, as Mr. Ekengboju Gboluga, one of the party’s  House of Representative Aspirants from Okitipupa local government, allegedly led Mr. Akindele Alli, Okitipupa local government party secretary, Mrs Akingbade, women leader of Ode Aye Ward I, Akindehin Temidayo, youth Leader of Ode Aye ward I, Mr. Owa kolawole and 3 other members of the party from Ode Aye ward I, to beat up Mr. Adewo Folorunso Dangote, the PDP chairman of Okitipupa local government of Ondo State.

Our correspondent gathered that it took the intervention of the state organising secretary of the party, Engr. Dare, before the helpless party chairman (Adewo) was  rescused from the hands of his batterers.

The cloth of the Okitipupa local government party chairman was tore to pieces. A member of the party was sent to the market to get a new cloth for the victim before it could leave the party secretariat.

Starnews authoritatively confirmed from a member of the state executive of the party that Mr. Gboluga, was the one that brought the attackers to the party secretariat to submit a petition regards the delegates list of some wards under Okitipupa local government.

Trouble started when the local government party chairman did not accept their petition and referred them back home, for submission of any petition.

It was gathered that the chairman refused to accept their petition because they bypassed him to the party secretariat at Akure instead of the party secretariat at Okitipupa.

Meanwhile, the state executive of the party has directed the state party secretary, Chief Ibine Oye to immediately issue a suspension letter to the affected people who were caught in the act of molesting  the Okitipupa party chairman.

This was confirmed to our correspondent on phone by chief Ibine who said their suspension letters were being typed as at the time of talking to our staff on phone.
