The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended four top party officials, including the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, for one month.
Also suspended are the Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha, and the National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature.
The decision follows a recent court order halting the party’s planned national convention.
Announcing the development after an emergency meeting of the NWC held on Saturday at the party’s Legacy House office in Maitama, Abuja, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the affected officials have been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee.
“The NWC, in line with the party’s constitution, came to the following conclusion: the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and National Organizing Secretary have been suspended for one month and referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee,” Ologunagba stated.
The suspension comes amid rising internal tensions within the PDP over leadership and convention arrangements.
