AAUA announces resumption date, assures students of safety

The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has announced Sunday, November 9, 2025, as the official resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu, who said both fresh and returning students are expected to resume for the first semester in line with the approved academic calendar.

According to the schedule released, screening and online registration for fresh students, as well as online registration for returning students, will hold from November 9 to 15, 2025. Physical resumption for all students and faculty-based course exposition will take place between November 16 and 22, while lectures will commence on November 23, 2025.

Arajulu noted that the semester will run for 19 weeks — comprising two weeks for registration and resumption, twelve weeks for lectures, one week for revision, and four weeks for examinations. He urged students to strictly adhere to the academic calendar and ensure timely payment of all prescribed fees to avoid disruption of academic activities.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga E. Ige, has assured the university community of improved security measures on campus ahead of resumption. During a monitoring visit on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, he disclosed that the institution had requested additional security personnel, including police officers and operatives from other agencies, to strengthen patrols within and around the university.

He added that management is also working closely with the host community and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
