PDP fixes date to elect new party executives in 13 states

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the timetable for its 2025 congresses to elect new party executives in 13 states across the country.

This was disclosed on Friday by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature, in a statement shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the timetable, the congresses will be held in Adamawa, Borno, Edo, Kebbi, Kwara, Ondo, Oyo, Kogi, Lagos, Niger, Plateau, and Cross River States.

The exercise will begin with membership registration for both new and returning members, scheduled from Friday, August 1, to Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The sale of nomination and ad-hoc forms will run from Monday, August 18, to Friday, August 29. Submission of completed forms by aspirants will close on Friday, September 5.

The party outlined the following schedule:

Ward congresses to elect ward executives and three ad-hoc delegates will take place on Saturday, September 13, with appeals scheduled for Wednesday, September 17.

Local government congresses will hold on Saturday, September 20, followed by appeals on Wednesday, September 24.

State congresses are set for Saturday, September 27, while any appeals arising from the process will be addressed on Wednesday, September 30.

The PDP called on party faithful in the affected states to actively participate in the process, stressing the importance of internal democracy and transparent leadership renewal.
