PDP Electoral Committee Nullifies Rep Primary Election In Ondo

The Electoral Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for House of Representatives in Ondo state, has nullified the primary elections held in Owo/Ose Federal constituency in the state.

According to a statement jointly signed by the Committee’s Chairman, Bimbo Adepoju, Secretary, Modupe Johnson and a member, Dayo Ogunmodede, said the cancellation of the primary elections became necessary because of irregularities and errors during the exercise.

The Committee explained that the conduct of the election negates the laid down guidelines of the party saying the election was conducted in flagrant disregard to the PDP guidelines and constitution, thereby subjecting the process to incredible handling

The statement read “the Owo/Ose Federal constituency election was conducted in error as there was no need for it in the first instance.

“The primary election was disrupted by gun shots that marred the peaceful conduct of the election, thereby making the outcome untenable.”

The Committee urged the National Secretariat of the PDP to do the needful to avoid internal wrangling with the party ahead of the general election, saying “the national Secretariat is hereby called upon to direct as may be necessary”
