PDP approves Faboyede led State Excos as Caretaker Committee for 3 months in Ondo

In a letter addressed to Engr Clement Faboyede, the outgoing Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, dated March 29, 2020, with reference number PDP/DOM/GF.2/VOL.1/20-036, and signed by Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd.), the National Organising Secretary of the Party, the PDP has announced the approval of Engr. Faboyede led state executives in Ondo State as Caretaker Committee for three months, StarnewsNG can report.

Subsequently, Engr Faboyede, has on Monday, inaugurated the newly elected Ward Executives of the party as constitutionally required by him.

“I Engr Clement Faboyede, State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (Ondo State) on behalf of the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and the National Working Committee of the party, hereby swear in all duly elected Ward Executives of our party across the 203 wards of Ondo state”, he said:

The letter addressed to Faboyede by the PDP partially reads below:

“Similarly, the NWC has approved the reconstitution of the current State Executive Committee Members into a State Caretaker Committee with effect from April 5, 2020, till such a time when it shall be possible for the conduct of State Congress for the election of State Officers: provided that they shall not serve in such capacity for more than three months from April 5, 2020,”

StarnewsNG reports that Dr. Eddy Olafeso, the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the PDP was copied in the letter written by the PDP to appoint Engr Faboyede led state executives as the Caretaker Committee of the party for three months in Ondo State.”

Starnews NG reports that the PDP was unable to conclude its state congresses in Ondo State because of the ban on public gathering as part of the measure introduced by Ondo State Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
