The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of one of its prominent chieftains in Ife-North Local Government Area, Hon. Olubisi Odewumi.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, on behalf of the state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the APC described Odewumi’s death as shocking and a colossal loss to the party.
Lawal noted that Odewumi was a loyal and committed member whose contributions to the growth and stability of the party would be difficult to replace.
“To describe the deceased as a core loyal chieftain of the party and a team player during his lifetime is not an overstatement. He was always available to contribute his quota to the development of the APC,” Lawal stated.
He added that although Odewumi died in his prime, his political journey reflected a life of service and accomplishment.
“The untimely death of Honourable Olubisi Odewumi is devastating to the APC family. His dedication and commitment to our party were remarkable, and his loss comes at a time when his wealth of experience was most needed,” the chairman said.
Lawal prayed for God’s comfort for Odewumi’s widow, children, and political associates, urging them to take solace in the impactful life he lived.
Odewumi, a former Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of Rauf Aregbesola, reportedly died on Thursday morning at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
