The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Ondo State, has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of its newly appointed Registrar, Mr. Ezekiel Imoleayo Adeniran.
The shocking news of Mr. Adeniran’s passing was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Isaac Oluyi. According to the statement, the Registrar was reportedly at his duty post as recently as Monday, July 14, with no public indication of any health concerns.
“The devastating news has thrown the University into mourning, as it was shocking,” the statement read. “As at the time of writing this statement, the cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.”
Mr. Adeniran assumed office as the third substantive Registrar of UNIMED on January 6, 2025, and was seen as a committed and forward-thinking administrator. His tenure, though brief, was marked by dedication and a renewed drive for administrative efficiency within the university system.
The university community, colleagues, and students alike have been left stunned by the abrupt loss, with many describing him as a man of integrity and quiet strength who was passionate about institutional development.
