Ondo poll: Over 3,000 APC, PDP members defect to ZLP

More than three thousand members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilaje local government area of Ondo State on Wednesday decamped to the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) ahead of the State governorship election.

Starnews NG had reported recently that the coming of the third force which is also known as the ZLP has thrown up more intrigues ahead of the October 10, 2020, election in Ondo State.

The defectors were led by Hon. Akinbuwa Apokan from the twelve wards of Ilaje local government.

Akinbuwa said it became necessary to join the ZLP because they want to be part of the political revolution to rescue the state from the maladministration of ruling APC.

Com Adetola Egbeyighan, the chairman of ZLP in Ilaje local government received the defectors.

At the venue of the event, the people were shouting “Agbogboye” meaning that Agboola Ajayi has taken the mantle.

Recalled that the ZLP picked Adegbenro Gboye from llara-Mokin in lfedore council area of the state as running mate to Agboola Ajayi, the candidate of the ZLP.
