Ondo police refutes phone theft allegation against officers

The Ondo State Police Command has dismissed allegations circulating online that its officers deployed on a quick intervention mission in Idogun were involved in theft at a mobile phone shop.

In a statement issued on March 22, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, described the claim as misleading.

According to her, investigations involving traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and officers on duty confirmed that there is no mobile phone shop in Idogun.

The command urged anyone with a genuine complaint to follow the proper channels by submitting a petition to the Commissioner of Police’s office with relevant evidence for a thorough investigation.

Reaffirming its commitment to justice and public trust, the command provided official contact details for further inquiries.
