Ondo PDP speaks over appointment of campaign council

By Our Correspondent

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has issued a formal statement clarifying that no appointments have been made for a local campaign council apart from the National Campaign Council inaugurated by the National Working Committee (NWC).

The announcement, made by an individual named Samuel Ogunmusi, regarding the coordination of campaigns for H.E Agboola Ajayi in the upcoming November election, has been described as both embarrassing and a violation of the PDP Constitution (2017 as Amended). The party highlighted that such announcements, made by unauthorized individuals, contravene Articles 46(1) and 40(1)(a)(b) and (c) of the PDP Constitution.

Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ondo State, declared that any such unauthorized announcements are null, void, and without effect.

He emphasized that the PDP is a well-organized party that adheres to the rule of law.

Official appointments for the Local Campaign Council will be made public at the appropriate time.
